Adolescent Process Group

Open to teens entering 8th – 12th grade
Mondays, 8:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Led by Wendy Pawelski, LCPC, CADC

Jr. High and High school can be difficult times, a time where depression, anxiety, and overall frustration can become overwhelming in a teen’s life.  Don’t struggle alone, help is available.  Process groups combine therapeutic techniques with peer feedback to help empower and engage teens.  A group atmosphere provides a safe and supportive environment where teens can openly discuss and process topics.

We will address:

  • Identifying healthy and unhealthy boundaries
  • Family issues and assertive communication
  • Peer Pressure
  • Handling the “drama” of everyday life
  • Moving past issues, and working on goals
  • Building self-esteem and respecting self and others
  • Relationship issues

Wendy Pawelski, LCPC, CADC, was born and raised in Illinois.  She completed her M.A. at Benedictine University, and her Master’s in School Counseling through Northern Illinois University.  Wendy also has a specialization and certificate in addiction treatment through the College of Du Page.  She has worked at Linden Oaks Hospital for over 10 years, and enjoys working with the adolescent population.  Wendy has a strong knowledge of teen issues, and understands how to support, confront, and encourage them.  Wendy’s expertise is in adolescents, addictions, anxiety, depression, and family issues.

Location of the group is at Naper Clinical Behavioral Services
